"Promoting competitive bidding in the marketing of livestock"

Livestock Marketers of Saskatchewan Announces New Executive

May 3, 2017

(SASKATOON, SK) At a Board Meeting in Regina, SK, on April 20 the Livestock Marketers of Saskatchewan (LMS) voted in a new executive. Alan Jackson, Order Buyer for JGL Livestock, is the new President while board member Tyler Cronkhite, Manager and Auctioneer at Cowtown Livestock Exchange in Maple Creek, is now Vice President.

Past President Stewart Stone, COO of Heartland Livestock Services, will remain on the Board of Directors and lend his many years of experience to the new executive. Stone has been with the LMS board for seven years, serving three of those as President.

Six others round out the LMS Board: Blair Brooks of Meadow Lake Livestock Sales, John Williamson of Mankota Stockman's Weigh Co, Pat Tellier of Saskatoon Livestock Sales, Scott Johnstone of Johnstone Auction Mart, Rhett Parks of Whitewood Livestock Sales and Roy Rutledge of Weyburn Livestock Exchange.

LMS promotes competitive bidding in the marketing of livestock by establishing collaborative relations with industry partners, developing educational activities for members and adhering to sound business practices and responsible animal welfare at members' auction markets. Over 90 percent of the cattle marketed in Saskatchewan are sold through members of the Livestock Marketers of Saskatchewan.
